About Mark:
Mark is a Canadian economist specializing in the economics of well-being and happiness. He is the Chief Well-being Officer and President of his economic consulting firm Anielski Management Inc. based in Edmonton, Alberta. Mark is also the author of the award-winning book The Economics of Happiness: Building Genuine Wealth (2007) and his new book An Economy of Well-being: Common Sense Tools for Building Genuine Wealth and Happiness (2018). Schooled in accounting, economics and forestry, Mark has provided strategic economic advice on well-being economics over the past 25 years to governments and corporations in Canada, the US, China, Bhutan, French Polynesia, Austria, and the Netherlands. His integrated five-capital asset model called Genuine Wealth (which means ‘well-being’ in Old English) is an accounting model being used by governments, non-profits and businesses to measure well-being impacts of policies and programs. He is one of the architects of the Canadian Index of Well-being and the Genuine Progress Index.
